Applying for benefits can be a confusing process for MISSION staff and clients alike. As such, the goal of this module is to provide information and suggestions for case managers and peer support specialists, in order to help them guide clients through multiple application processes. The module also addresses strategies that MISSION staff can use to enhance clients' utilization of the benefits that they are awarded.

Medicaid Policy Options for Services to Benefit Chronically Homeless Individuals: A Report from Massachusetts

MISSION clients are often chronically homeless, experience higher morbidity and mortality rates than the general population, and are more likely to receive Medicaid or quality for Medicaid. Their Medicaid costs tend to be high due to frequent utilization of emergency departments and multiple hospitalizations. The following is a case example exploring opportunities under federal and Massachusetts state authorities to expand access to supportive housing services for Medicaid members and MISSION clients.
